Comedian Patton Oswalt announced his marriage this weekend to actress Meredith Salenger. The news comes after the comedian, perhaps best known for his work on The King of Queens, was criticized by some for a quick engagement following his first wife’s sudden death.
Oswalt shared the news of the wedding on Instagram with a photo from the ceremony and the caption: “What’d you guys do yesterday?”
Oswalt, who currently has a role on HBO's Veep, repsonded to critics this summer by saying he was choosing to ignore them.
Salenger shared several additional images from the couple’s wedding ceremony:
The couple announced their engagement in July. Oswalt’s first wife, crime writer Michelle McNamara, died suddenly about 15 months prior in April 2016. Her death was caused by an accident overdose, according to the actor.
Salenger, an actress perhaps best known for The Journey of Natty Gann, even posted a tribute to her friend Eric Garcetti. Garcetti is the mayor of Los Angeles, and the two have been friends since their childhood. Salenger joked that it was a testament to Patton that he allowed her first kiss to be at their wedding:
Oswalt's daughter, Alice, was seen photographed throughout the day as well.
