5 Movies to Binge for the 4th of July

July 3, 2017

With 4th of July here I have put together a list of Five Movies you should watch to celebrate America.

5.) National Treasure - What is better than Nicolas Cage stealing the Declaration of Independence? If you said nothing you are correct! Honestly, this film is perfect for the fact it is filled with the history of our nation as they plan to steal the Document that we celebrate on the 4th of July.

4.) Rocky - This is 100% the story of the American if you never noticed. This story of an Italian Immigrant who is granted a shot at the title against Apollo Creed a black man who has climbed the lader to the top of the Boxing World shows what the American Dream is. Hard work and determination will lead to achievment and a shot at reaching the top of the ladder. Despite winning or losing in the end its all about chasing your dreams and making the most of the moment.

3.) Yankee Doodle Dandy - James Cagney in one of his best performances and this is also one of my favorite movies of all time. This is the story about George M. Cohan sitting down at The White House to receive a congressional medal of freedom from the President. He then flashbacks his life story from his youth to his success as an actor, writer, director and producer known for patriotic songs like "Yankee Doddle Dandy," "You're a Grand Old Flag" and "Over There."

2.) Independence Day - Will Smith saving the world in this ultimate classic. Stay away from the sequel though and just enjoy the first film in this franchise as a group of Americans save the entire world from an Alien Takeover.

1.) Jaws - The whole movie takes place around the 4th of July. Remember they can't close the beaches for the 4th of July because its the biggest beach/money day for the town of Amity. This is the summer movie that should always be enjoyed around this time of the year as you remember why you are afraid to go swimming in the ocean.

Some sleeper films to watch also include Forest Gump, Captain America, Born on the 4th of July and Magic Mike (yes, that 4th of July dance will have you ready to stand at attention). Enjoy your movie watching!
